Our client

Project highlights
The challenge
Our client needed to upgrade and expand their international arrivals building while keeping the US Customs & Border Protection passenger processing facilities operational during construction. Designs and construction needed to account for necessary phasing to maintain airline and federal operations.
Our solution
Our team provided structural designs for the new facilities, which included two new building additions, a new baggage carousel, restrooms, and additional passenger processing space. We also provided a seismic retrofit to the existing structures in accordance with ASCE 41-13 life safety performance objectives.
The results
Due to our diligent planning and coordination with the team, the project was designed and constructed within 24 months, and the existing arrivals terminal remained open during the expansion, meeting the client’s needs.
