The services provided by these labs is important to our citizens, our farms, and our businesses. Locating them together in a new and modern central facility will enable us to be more effective and efficient.

Designing an Agricultural Sciences Building to Support Economy
Our client needed to update and collocate four laboratories whose average age was more than 40 years. Those labs support divisions that are vital to North Carolina’s citizens, farms, and businesses: Food and Drug Protection, Standards, Motor Fuels, Structural Pest Control and Pesticides, and Veterinary Diagnostics.
We designed a state-of-the-art laboratory complex that houses offices, laboratories, and shared spaces. Designs support advanced testing equipment and include special systems such as purified water types, lab gases, air transfer segregation/isolation, special exhaust, humidity control, multiple voltage types, and high-intensity critical lab lighting.
Collocating these facilities not only provides updated space to increase efficiency and efficacy for five teams with 200 employees, it also allows for future expansion and growth.
