Continuing a 20-Year Relationship with Distinguished Hospital System
Salas O’Brien’s Minnesota and Wisconsin teams were founded in 2001 to help regional hospitals in the Mayo Clinic System better manage seasonal spikes in utility fees. Twenty years later, we continue to advance their defining commitment to sustainability with engineered systems that energy-saving, carbon-reducing technologies and strategies.
Projects include a dual-wheel dessicant approach to reducing operating room temperatures and relative humidity at Mayo Wishart with no downtime in system changes and lower operating and life cycle costs.
At Mayo Clinic Health System Menomonie, the geothermal system we designed reduces energy use by 40 percent, providing a two-year return on investment. Flexible engineered systems elsewhere on that campus allow reconfiguration of spaces to accommodate changing therapies.
