Engineering Klein ISD’s Most Energy Efficient Elementary School

French Elementary is Klein ISD’s 30th elementary school with the capacity to accommodate approximately 940 students. The district entrusted us to leverage the mechanical design and the building’s abundant natural light– in the form of windows and skylights–to boost its overall energy efficiency.

To meet the needs of the impressive 125,000-square-foot school, we designed an outside air demand control system including an eries fan-powered system, pre-treated and pre-conditioned outside air, as well as monitored CO2 air control to achieve demand control. The design also included packaged cooler chillers a chilled and hot water system.
