Salas O’Brien provided engineering and construction administration services for King’s Hawaiian’s new production facility in Oakwood, Georgia. Our work helped the company meet stringent FDA and OSHA standards and expand their national production capability to grow their business.
Our client
King’s Hawaiian began on the island of Hawaii in 1950 and has since expanded to become a Hawaii and California powerhouse. While perhaps best known for its signature Hawaiian Sweet Rolls, the company has expanded into a wide variety of related products over recent years.

Their challenge
To accommodate the company’s expansion, King’s Hawaiian needed to create additional production facilities around the country. The first of these was in Oakwood, Georgia, and company leadership came to Salas O’Brien for engineering services that would support the project’s success.

Salas O’Brien provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection engineering and construction administration for this facility.
The results
The finished facility met stringent criteria from both the FDA and OSHA and includes a large production floor, several three-story silos, and other features that will allow King’s Hawaiian to serve its customers well for years to come.
