Enhancing and Increasing Service Capabilities for New Medical Office

With the belief that a healthier environment leads to better health outcomes, Kaiser Permanente wanted a functional, beautiful, environmentally-friendly facility. Our team provided electrical engineering for the innovative medical office building, integrating advanced technology like the NextGen healthcare IT platform and self-service express check-in kiosks to make medical care more convenient. There are 40 exam rooms featuring technologies like the “smart chair” that measures a patient’s weight and blood pressure and can recline into an exam table.

Our sustainable design includes low-voltage DC lighting, DC outlets, and LED lighting throughout to mitigate energy demands. Playa Vista offers primary care and specialty services like laboratory, imaging, pharmacy, women’s health, and behavioral health. The pediatric unit features separate sick and well-child waiting rooms with negative reverse air technology to mitigate the spread of germs.

Playa Vista is driven by technology and centered around patients’ individual needs. With a thoughtful design that meets exacting standards, our team was able to create efficiencies in time, energy, and cost allowing Kaiser Permanente to combine a broad variety of services under one roof.
