Engineering New Hospital Tower to Meet Growing Community Need

Our team provided electrical engineering for the addition of a six-story hospital tower for the Kaiser Permanente hospital in Downey, California. The new tower connects to the north elevation of the existing hospital tower. The new tower increases capacity by adding 72 beds to the current 352 beds, three perioperative rooms, 16 post-anesthesia care unit bays, a sterile processing department, anesthesia offices, an inpatient pharmacy, and general services.

In addition, we expanded the 7,400-square-foot Central Utility Plant with additional mechanical and electrical equipment to support the hospital addition. Our team also renovated the existing site’s electrical and low voltage systems to accommodate the new patient tower.
