CHA Health Systems is a global leader in bio-technology and healthcare, comprising the largest healthcare network in the Asia-Pacific region. Their purchase of Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center (HPMC) in 2004 added the seven-building acute care facility and more than 1,400 employees to their group.
To meet California’s 2020 mandate for seismic safety standards for hospitals, our team was tapped to bring the system into compliance, focusing on their emergency department and kitchen & dietary services.
Determining that constructing a tower to include the upgraded departments was more feasible than retrofitting an existing one, our team used temporary power systems while upgrading the new site, staging the transitions to keep both sites powered for uninterrupted patient care.
Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center’s full-service medical tower fulfills seismic safety requirements and creates a facility that enhances the patient experience from the moment they walk in the door.
