Project highlights

Their challenge
Glassdoor’s new Chicago office is part of the nine-story Fulton West mixed-use development in the city’s affluent Fulton Market district. The company needed a trustworthy engineering consultant to work alongside their architect, Valerio Dewalt Train, during the interior buildout of their tenancy on the top two floors of the building. As one of Glassdoor’s largest employee centers, the office needed to accommodate a large team while facilitating collaboration and focused workflows. Glassdoor leadership also prioritized sustainability and aimed to achieve LEED certification for this project.
Our solution
Salas O’Brien provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection engineering consulting services for the buildout of the 52,000-square-foot office space. This space included a tech-focused, open plan office area as well as private offices, conference and huddle rooms, open break-out areas, server rooms, a café, and other support areas.
The results
Established alongside other distinguished Fulton West tenants such as Uber and Dyson, the finished Glassdoor office is a stunning example of the company’s commitment to its employees and the community. The office enjoys open views towards downtown and local flair like conference rooms named after city landmarks and murals painted by employees. Our work helped the client achieve its ambitious sustainability goals and LEED certification.
