Structural Expertise for Complete High School Rebuild

Oakland Unified School District needed to replace and renovate the entire 1,200-student Fremont High School campus, originally built in 1923. The goal of the project was to improve the overall experience for students. So the design and construction were completed in phases to minimize disruption.

The new campus features state-of-the-art classrooms, a brand-new gym, a stadium, and a library. Salas O’Brien assisted with the structural design of the new campus buildings and the renovation and seismic upgrade of several existing facilities to meet the current building code and Division of the State Architect (DSA) requirements.

Our team worked collaboratively with the district and design team on this phased project, and the new campus improves student experience and the overall school performance.
