Their challenge

When this client decided to expand one of their data centers in Bothell, Washington, they turned to Salas O’Brien to complete the engineering design for the project.

Our solution

Salas O’Brien designed the build-out of 32,000 square feet of second floor space to expand this wireless communication company’s existing data center. The scope of work included enlarging the existing mechanical courtyard by 2,500 square feet and adding a separate three-story, 14,700-square-foot mechanical substation facility, two new generators, an 80,000-gallon make-up water storage tank, and a second 20,000-gallon fuel tank to provide backup service to emergency generators. The project also included a network operations center, offices, and carefully coordinated construction efforts to maintain 24/7 operations and uninterrupted power supply.
