Our client
Located just north of the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex area, Denton Independent School District (ISD) is one of the fastest-growing school districts in North Texas. Educators in Denton enjoy the support of a highly engaged and supportive community—in the past two decades, the district has passed four bond packages totaling more than $1.3 billion.

Their challenge
The explosive growth in this district necessitated the construction of a new 12,000-seat stadium and associated facility for student use—the C.H. Collins Stadium. District leadership needed a trustworthy engineering partner to complete mechanical, electrical, and plumbing designs for the facility. The space also required special lighting and video design so that the facility could televise games and events.
Our solution
Our team completed standard mechanical, electrical, and plumbing design services for the main stadium area as well as the building adjacent to the stadium—a two-story field house with locker rooms, district athletic offices, a centralized storage area, and a 150-person meeting room. In addition to this work, we provided design services for the stadium’s 10’ by 14’ video scoreboard and a three-story press box complete with tiered seating, a film deck, and two 20-person multi-use rooms.
The results
The finished stadium design met all of the district’s critical needs, including specialty lighting and video design to allow compatibility for televised events.
