Our team provided commissioning services for lifestyle hotel developer J Street Hospitality’s new Courtyard Marriott hotel in the gaslamp quarter of downtown San Diego. The finished hotel is an ideal retreat for both business and leisure travelers, and our services ensured that the hotel runs at maximum operational efficiency.
Centered in downtown San Diego, J Street Hospitality offers real estate investment, development, and asset management services and has a specialization in lifestyle hotel development.
When J Street Hospitality partnered with the Courtyard Marriott brand to develop a 90-room hotel in historic San Diego’s Gaslamp Quarter, they needed a trustworthy design firm to ensure the integrity of the new, 12-story building’s systems.
Salas O’Brien provided comprehensive commissioning services for the building’s HVAC equipment, lighting controls, and domestic hot water system. The HVAC commissioning included a central cooling plant with two chillers, a central heating plant with gas-fired boilers, and a water-source heat pump system for the guest rooms and common areas.
Built to match the needs of the modern business traveler, the finished Courtyard Marriott Gaslamp Hotel has a modern, casual design that facilitates both work and leisure. The hotel’s convenient location makes it the perfect choice for busy corporate clients, and its rooftop bar and underground parking with vehicle elevator add luxury and convenience to guests’ experience.
