Their challenge
When J Street Hospitality partnered with the Courtyard Marriott brand to develop a 90-room hotel in historic San Diego’s Gaslamp Quarter, they needed a trustworthy design firm to ensure the integrity of the new, 12-story building’s systems.
Our solution
Salas O’Brien provided comprehensive commissioning services for the building’s HVAC equipment, lighting controls, and domestic hot water system. The HVAC commissioning included a central cooling plant with two chillers, a central heating plant with gas-fired boilers, and a water-source heat pump system for the guest rooms and common areas.
The results
Built to match the needs of the modern business traveler, the finished Courtyard Marriott Gaslamp Hotel has a modern, casual design that facilitates both work and leisure. The hotel’s convenient location makes it the perfect choice for busy corporate clients, and its rooftop bar and underground parking with vehicle elevator add luxury and convenience to guests’ experience.
