Choice Hotels International
Cambria Hotel Nashville
Salas O’Brien performed mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering, an in-depth energy analysis, and new system implementation for the Cambria Hotel in Nashville, Tennessee.
Our client
Choice Hotels International started in 1939 as a marketing cooperative between seven Florida motor court owners. Now it is one of the largest hotel franchises in the world, with over 6,400 hotels spanning 40 countries and territories. Choice Hotels lays claim to many hotel “firsts,” among them the first to offer 24-hour desk service, first to develop a global marketing and reservations system, and the first to implement a proprietary, cloud-based property management system.

Their challenge
With the tagline “upscale but never uptight,” Choice Hotels’ Cambria brand serves a distinctive niche of their luxury market. The hotels pair a relaxed social atmosphere with modern, luxurious accommodations and excellent service. The 19-story, 255-room Cambria Hotel in Nashville, Tennessee, lives up to this branding with stunning features like its rooftop pool and 9,400-square-foot restaurant with a stage for live performances. This complex structure’s developers needed a seasoned and professional engineering partner to make this venture a success.
Our solution
Our team’s engineering services on this project included mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering, an in-depth energy analysis, and implementation of an air-cooled system in lieu of a water-source heat pump.
The results
Thanks to Salas O’Brien’s professional engineering services, the hotel’s systems efficiently support its operations and empower the hotel to provide excellent service to its guests.
