Job title:
Vice President – Technology Leader

What accomplishments are you most proud of?
A few times now I have set a goal to run 1,000 miles in the course of a year. It seems easy, about 3-miles per day. It is a long-term and consistent path that I am extremely proud of completing twice now! Professionally, I am very proud of my commitment to professional development. It is easy to get comfortable and focus on work. I have been regularly seeking additional credentials and degrees, and I am proud of my discipline to keep them up.

What’s an interesting fact about you that people may not know?
During high school and college, I used to DJ weddings and parties. This started out as a hobby to get the largest and loudest sound system and became a great way to help pay for college.

What do you like most about working at Salas O’Brien?
I love the energy and passion that runs through the company. I am always warmed by the welcoming and positivity that I find when working with new people, offices and business units.

What kind of projects do you like to work on and why?
I am more of a people person. The best projects for me are the ones that have the best teams—when a team is fully developed and voices are heard from everything from the owner to the architect to the engineers to the contractors. We are all working together to build something, and when this mission is set early on, all members of the team work toward the mission instead of just a small part.

What do you do for fun?
My fun comes with the kids. Going to the park, playing in the backyard, or having dance parties in the basement. Between my kids and the neighborhood kids, everyone ends up at our house, and we have lot of fun.

Favorite show or movie?
I really like the movie Big Fish – it has shaped a lot of how I tell stories and live a big life. It’s crazy how many stories come up through years of life and travel. My wife is sick of hearing a few of the repeats by now!

Favorite book?
On the fence this year between “The Subtle Art of not Giving A F***” and “Born to Run.” I switch between a personal development book and something fun to listen to on audiobooks. These both stuck with me.

Favorite place in the world?
Prior to joining Salas O’Brien, I was on a plane every week for several years. Some weeks traveling all five days. My favorite place is home. I like to be in or outside the house with my family.
