Carleton College operated its steam plant for the last time Friday, May 21, after converting to a geothermal and hot water distribution system and simultaneous heating and cooling heat pumps. We helped develop the utility master plan and helped design the new systems. This video provides an overview of those systems.

Visit Carleton College’s geothermal page for an in-depth exploration of its historic steam plant, the utility master plan, and details about how we’re helping them reach their goal of carbon neutrality by 2050.
