Salas O’Brien’s fourth merger in 2022 creates a team of over 1,525 across North America
Salas O’Brien announced today that Texas-based Armstrong-Douglass Structural Engineers has joined the company, further strengthening Salas O’Brien’s structural engineering services and creating a combined firm of more than 50 offices with over 1,525 team members and 360 registered professionals.
The Armstrong-Douglass team’s capabilities and portfolio complement Salas O’Brien’s existing structural work across North America. The merger increases our combined team’s ability to provide comprehensive, integrated, multi-disciplinary engineering services.
As the next step in Salas O’Brien’s strategy to be local everywhere, with international resources, the Armstrong-Douglass team will continue to be managed by its current leaders and will adopt the Salas O’Brien name after a transition period.
The merger closed on May 16, 2022, marking the fourth company to join Salas O’Brien this year.
“Armstrong-Douglass is an ideal addition to Salas O’Brien’s structural team,” said John Westphal, managing principal and leader of Salas O’Brien’s structural engineering services. “From community involvement to their depth of expertise and impressive client roster, we are excited to see such close alignment with Salas O’Brien’s mission and thrilled to welcome them aboard.”
Salas O’Brien continues to grow as part of an ambitious plan to create the most respected engineering firm in the world, as measured by our clients and team members.
“We are grateful for Armstrong-Douglass’ dedicated team of experts, and excited about the future opportunities this merger presents to them,” said Scott Armstrong, co-founding partner of Armstrong-Douglass.
“Joining Salas O’Brien presents tremendous value for our clients and industry partners, and we look forward to strengthening those relationships as a result,” said Scott Douglass, co-founding partner of Armstrong-Douglass.
