Case studies
Full-service hospital features future-focused, resilient design
Salas O’Brien provided comprehensive design services for the Northern Nevada Sierra Medical Center. The hospital was constructed on a greenfield site in just two and a half years. To achieve the hospital’s commitment to sustainable and resilient infrastructure, we designed a 1,400-ton magnetic bearing centrifugal chiller plant, a waterside economizer, free cooling, and an infinitely variable chilled water plant optimization algorithm.

Reviving history with modern design
Once a busy meatpacking plant, the Neuhoff District fell into disrepair after decades of vacancy. Partnering with developer New City Properties, the City of Nashville, Tennessee, set out to preserve the site’s historic character while creating a thriving community with new offices, shops, restaurants, and residences.
Salas O’Brien provided comprehensive MEP and technology design services to bring that vision to life. The technology team designed integrated systems for security, connectivity, and infrastructure to link multiple buildings across the site.
