Designing dual-frequency desalter within existing power and space limits to reduce costs
Salas O’Brien partnered with a major oil refinery client who required a new
desalter to eliminate salt from crude oil, an essential step in oil refining. We
provided mechanical, structural, electrical, and instrument design for the
dual-frequency desalter, which has a higher treatment capacity and will
eventually reduce capital and operating expenses.
Improving safety and reliability in the chemical manufacturing process
Salas O’Brien was part of the design team that worked with this producer of specialty polyester polymers, the world’s only commercial manufacturing facility for an essential chemical compound. When their Catalyst Recovery Unit (CRU) reached the end of its useful life, the production team was no longer able to separate and recycle catalyst metals, which is a critical component of the manufacturing process.
