    A native of California, Darin has been described as “one passionate, energetic dude.” His can-do attitude serves him not only as Chairman and CEO of Salas O’Brien, but also as a family man, athlete, and community leader. Whether he is competing in an ultra-marathon, racing bicycles in Europe, touring Thailand on a motorcycle, or coaching his kids in soccer, Darin leaves nothing in the tank. Armed with an ardent focus on the positive, a virtually unmatched abundance of determination, and a listening ear for his team's perspective, he leads through encouragement and by example. Darin has been leading large engineering and construction organizations for over 20 years as CEO, COO, and CFO. At 30, he was the CFO of Kleinfelder, a 2,500 person geotech and environmental firm.

    Whether Paul is visiting team members at one of the many Salas O’Brien offices around the country, teaching Kung Fu, or helping to find the right solutions for a client, he exudes an energy and love for life that is inspirational and contagious. His stalwart conviction to promote integrity, ingenuity and confidence is evidenced by his active mentorship both within the company and his own community. Paul is at his best when he can wear many hats, making the role of COO in a multi-discipline company a natural fit for both his dynamic and extroverted right brain and its logical, business-minded counterpart. Away from the office, Paul enjoys travelling with his wife and two daughters, and running with the family dogs.

    About Tim

    Tim started his career with Toyota Motor Manufacturing, working with Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen techniques, and teaming concepts. After graduation, he took a position as an electrical process engineer in a plastics extrusion production facility. Over the next few years, he began taking on roles of increasing responsibility at several companies in areas including facilities and plant engineering. After receiving his PE, Tim transitioned to engineering consulting; having experience as both a client and a consultant has enabled him to better relate to clients’ needs, concerns, and expectations.

    In addition to his responsibilities as a Managing Principal, Stan Everett managing all areas of his projects including design contract management, quality assurance and delivery of services. One of his most important roles at Salas O’Brien is functioning as a primary liaison for clients. During his 40+ years of experience, Stan has worked on a wide variety of unique project types, including co-generation, geo-thermal, central energy plants, laboratory air pressure/circulation, and critical load applications such as data and telecommunication centers.

    Raised in a family of engineers, Brad leveraged his innate aptitude for science and math to excel in the field and become a Principal at Salas O’Brien at only 33 years young. His sincerity and easy going nature set clients at ease, while his design and technical skills give his numerous and varied projects an unparalleled level of quality. Actively involved in his community, Brad enjoys volunteering in many local charity and educational programs. Determined to live life to its fullest, Brad has completed 21 marathons and enjoys trotting the globe with his wife and two sons. He is also a dedicated Houston sports fan in regular attendance at all of the Rockets and Texans games.

    Arnold was drawn to the field of architecture by a fascination with the technical side of how things work. His natural aptitude for problem solving coupled with his drive and ambition to reach the level of partner set him apart as a young professional, but it was his authenticity and ability to foster relationships that propelled him to his current role of Managing Principal at Salas O’Brien. Arnold makes a great effort to create lasting personal connections with clients, vendors, and staff, and he is a champion for the unification and prosperity of his team. As a trustee and activist at his church, Arnold’s strength in leadership extends far beyond the office walls.

    John Salas is one of the firm’s Founders and Principals and has been with the firm since 1979. Over the last 35 years John has developed an expertise in project & construction management, mechanical, controls, and plumbing design systems for commercial, institutional, residential, industrial, educational, and public sector projects. John has been involved in complex central plant planning and design, HVAC system build-outs, and control systems integration. John has managed complete renovation/modernization projects from the study phase through design and construction. His experience includes extensive commissioning of energy management systems that is becoming more and more important to both our clients and for the sustainable future.

    About Farzad

    In addition to providing regional leadership for his team, Farzad designs a variety of HVAC systems and styles, along with piping and hydronic systems designs for a wide and diverse variety of facilities. As a LEED Accredited Professional registered with the US Green Building Council (USGBC), Farzad is passionate about sustainable design. Furthermore, Farzad is a licensed Commissioning Authority (CxA) and member of the AABC Commissioning Group (ACG). He has developed a comprehensive approach to Building Commissioning and is committed to ensure that building systems are installed and perform in accordance with design criteria.
